Theater Plays

Dig It

This was the biggest production of my school plays that I had fun doing with my friends. Being it was the last one, it was very meaningful. Even though I wasn’t an actor, it was really fun to be a part of it. There was a lot of collaboration and laughing, and while none of us are probably going to grow up to be actors, the power of togetherness and the supportive dynamics that we felt together will last a lifetime

Lewis & Clark

This play was interesting because it was based on the Lewis & Clark expedition, which was a direct result of the Louisiana Purchase and the American obsession with ‘Manifest Destiny.’ It introduced me to American history, which was powerful for me because after this play, History ended up being one of my favorite classes in school! My part was as a background actor, and I sang a song with a dog, who was played by one of my classmates. At the end, we all performed a dance routine together, and I still laugh about it today.

Thanksgiving Play

This is evidence of my earliest foray into the performing arts. I don’t remember much about the play, but these opportunities to have fun with my classmates were important to my social development.
